Emergency Dentistry/Toothaches in Cedarbrook, PA
Dental emergencies such as a broken tooth or knocked off crown are nothing unusual, and our office at Dental Solutions in Cedarbrook is here to help you with any dental injuries and problems. In many cases, dental emergencies are not as bad as they look, but if something happens, you should definitely have your teeth checked to make sure there is no further damage.
In the meantime, you can take preventive measures to minimize the pain as well as the restoration costs.
- Broken tooth – apply a cold compress to reduce the swelling, take some pain medication if necessary and contact our office immediately.
- Loosened primary tooth – have your child bite into a piece of caramel or apple – the primary tooth typically comes out on its own. If not, contact our office for an appointment.
- Knocked-off crown – whether it is temporary or permanent, try placing the crown back where it came from and contact our office.
- Displaced tooth – typically the result of a facial injury, a displaced tooth can be put back into its socket. If this is not possible, place the tooth into a solution of warm milk, saline or your own saliva and bring it with you to your emergency appointment. Remember that you should always hold the tooth by the crown, not by the root!
